Weighing in at 3 pounds, the Nikon F5 was my camera of choice for
any assignment. It was reliable and never stopped working even under
harsh weather conditions. I was never a real big print film user and one
of my last gigs was a wedding I photographed with Fuji Provia 400F.
The colors and exposures were just spot on and I was really sad to
leave the F5 and the days of film behind.

Digital has changed the way I work in many ways. I take pictures that I would never have taken with a film camera, simply because I had 36 exposures per roll and then processing. If I needed to get the
film out for processing and it wasn't finished, I had to dump the roll.
With digital there's plenty of days when I will take just 1 picture and then nothing until I have an assignment. Then there's days when I take a few hundred pictures, just because I can experiment and
explore different perspectives. 1 or 100, I can take the CF/SD card out of the camera at the end of the day and process my images.
Not all digital cameras record data the same either, so you still need to watch for color shift and noise. The professional cameras do a great job rendering images like I had with film.
Children are always good for a few hundred exposures and thanks to digital, I can keep on shooting and capture moments that I would have lost if I had been using film. I was real careful and thought
out every exposure in order to conserve film. I made each shot count with no extra fun shots. It was purely business and expense with very little room for trying out new concepts. With Children
Photography or Portraits, there was a set price and you kept the frame count low.
