What’s your passion? Is it architectural assignments, outdoor
adventures, doing stills on a movie set, portraits or even weddings?
The D70s is an entry-level digital camera that can do it all with 6.1
million effective pixels. The D70s uses CF (Compact Flash Cards)
compatible with the pro bodies. I used this camera everywhere to
show people the quality you can obtain by buying a Nikon digital
body. Not all pixels are created equal and many of my workshop
students were seeing the truth in the image, that more mega-pixels
in a competitors body doesn’t necessarily mean better image
quality. Now I’m not saying that you don’t have to buy a D2Xs,
because as far as I’m concerned that’s the best of the best at
$4699.95 with 12.4 million effective pixels compared to the D70s at
$699.95 with its 6.1. The best way to achieve your goal is to know
your equipment and what it can do. I make 13”x19” prints from the
D70’s on several types of fine art paper and they look great! Digital
is an excellent tool to hone your skills as a creative individual
because you can see what you captured in real time. This camera
powers up in a mere 0.2 seconds and supports 133x writing speeds
to compatible cards. The D70s has my stamp of approval after
extensive use on all types of assignments and I’m sure you’ll find it a
pleasure to use to. Remember to read the manual and take time to
experiment with this fine piece of equipment so you can take
advantage of all it has to offer.
