Welcome to the restoration of an 1800's Vernacular Farmhouse. Here you will see before and after pictures that
transform this house back in time to its original character. Modern amenities have been retained in a way to
naturally flow with the period in time when they may have been added. This is an ongoing restoration at this time
with 90% of the total project complete. Be sure to check back each Month or as frequent as you like for updates.

The picture to the left shows the vinyl siding that was put over the original clapboards. When the vinyl was put on the house, the original 2 over 2 windows were replaced with vinyl replacement windows.

The picture to the right shows the
restored original clapboards on the
front of the house with the new
green and cream paint. The plank
door was built in 1998. The vinyl
windows are all being replaced with
authentic 2 over 2 single glaze like
they were originally.
The picture to the left shows the
kitchen looking towards the bathroom
from where the wood stove is. This
picture shows the 1980's flooring that
was put over the original 1800's
flooring, a casement window over the
sink, vertical 4' barn board and
wallpaper, a half wall leading into the
living room, a barn board cellar door,
the 1923 claw foot tub with shower
ring, dishwasher, hanging center light
and 1972 Glenwood gas stove.
The picture to the right shows the
restored kitchen looking towards the
bathroom from where the wood stove
is. With original 1800's wood floor,
redesigned sink area, original window
unit that was by the wood stove and
moved to balance the wall where the
acquired 1923 Bengal cook stove is, a
1934 GE refrigerating machine
(Monitor Top), new period style center
light, full wall behind the monitor Top,
restored 1923 claw foot tub and fresh
paint over plaster in all rooms.
